Research area:
My research interests lie within the fields of visual communication and science and technology studies. I integrate my academic work with curatorial interventions and design-related activities.
Why is your research important?
I see myself as part of a network exploring the remote effects of systems engineering and experimental science. In particular, my studies of vision environments demonstrate the intensification of feedbacks between more-than-human environments and common practices of data aggregation and processing. The inquiry contributes to building new programs of on climate change science and tactics of knowledge production.
What are your personal motivations?
My aim is to enable a broader social awareness of empirical research communities, curate science-conscious culture and develop strategies for post-human design.
What are you going to do during the cruise onboard?
During the cruise I will take on the role of a laboratory anthropologist, looking for techniques and practices to characterise the social meaning and environmental impact of research conducted in contemporary floating laboratories.
