Research area
Marine chemistry – Microplastics
Why is your research important?
In the last years, I have focused my research on assessing the impacts of microplastics on the natural environment, as well as on biorremediation strategies. With my research, I expect to contribute to reduce the plastic footprint (and in general, the human footprint) on the planet.
What are your personal motivations?
I would like to see a human society that is more respectful and less wasteful, that shares more equally the natural resources among themselves and with other species, minimizing pollution.
What are you going to do during the cruise onboard r/v Oceanograf?
During the cruise, I will be collecting samples for microplastics analysis, with the aim to determine the main routes of plastic pollution to the Norwegian continental shelf.
