Why is your research important?
I will study the details of the mechanisms ruling transport and diffusion of the Baltic water outflow. They are essential to understand and predict the fate of such waters in the Norwegian Sea and all the way up into the Barents Sea.
What are your personal motivations?
Oceanography has been my life for almost 40 years. After two expeditions to Antarctica, I am curious to explore the high latitude ocean in the North.
What are you going to do during the cruise onboard r/v Oceanograf?
I will be deploying drifters (current tracking instruments) and help with the other measurements.
