Elena Calvo

UNIVERSITY OF NAPLES “PARTHENOPE” & SEA-EU

Research area:
physical oceanography

Why is your research important?:
My research is focused on the study of the Baltic Water outflow, particularly on the processes that govern transport and diffusion of this water mass.

What are your personal motivations?
I am deeply motivated to join this oceanographic campaign and contribute to research in physical oceanography because of my passion for understanding the complex dynamics of our oceans and their crucial role in global climate systems.

What are you going to do during the cruise onboard r/v Oceania? Onboard r/v Oceania?
I will be deploying surface drifters to track the path of the Baltic Water along the Norwegian Coast and I will provide assistance to all other measurements.
